    On 10 of June 2009 the Economic Section of the Polish Embassy organised a seminar at the University of Indonesia on 20 years of Polish economic transformation.

    Around 150 students and the academic staff of the Faculty of Economics participated in the seminar. Besides Mr. Tomasz Łukaszuk, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland and Mr. Damian Irzyk, the First Secretary, speakers at the seminar were dr. Muliadi  Widjaja, who tried to relate the Polish experience to the Indonesian context, and dr. Margareth Gfrerer, who reviewed theses of the social economic market.

    Participants responded to the Polish presentations with great interest, underlining the best results of the Polish economic transformation in relation with the other countries from Eastern and Central Europe.

    The University of Indonesia (founded in 1849) is one of the biggest and most prestigious universities in Indonesia with around 40,000 students in 13 faculties.
